AJ D'Costa:

I'm a professional counsellor and psychotherapist with a deep appreciation for life in all its complexity. I work with clients face to face in Melbourne, and throughout Australia via Telehealth. My background includes extensive work in community mental health, where I've supported individuals, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds. I offer culturally sensitive, queer-affirming & neurodivergent-affirming therapy that is tailored to your particular needs and experiences.

My approach:

I use a decolonised approach to psychology that is rooted in non-judgementally understanding the context of a person's identity and difficulties.  I integrate Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Narrative Therapy, as well as Buddhist philosophy, practical meditation and expressive arts exercises.  I believe therapy should be flexible and empowering, and will collaborate with you closely each session, to understand where you're at and help find the insights, strategies and tools that resonate with you most strongly.

Whether you're navigating a specific mental health challenge or exploring broader life patterns, I'm here to support you.
